This stunning glass frame illustrates coral reef using low relief, colours and various processes to accentuate the texture of the ammonite. The front of the wall panel is highly textured creating shadows sideways. The glass is slightly translucent, the colours are different shades of blues, turquoises and lime green fading out, you can see that the relief makes the design look different depending on the angle you look at it.

After completing his degree in Glass in 2002, Matthew worked for a large glass design company in London before setting up his own business in 2012. Matthew designs and makes everything in his studio in Dorset, on the south coast of the UK, near the Jurassic Coast. All the moulds are hand-carved, he applies the colours manually and the glass is slumped over the mould in a kiln at temperatures over 800C and annealed to ensure strength and durability.
