Selling on Trouva?

We have been asked if we still sell on Trouva - Trouva.com,  an online marketplace for independent boutique retail shops. We no longer do, here’s why:

Trouva was originally launched to support independent shops and boutiques like our own - helping them to reach a wider audience. Their aim was to champion the survival and success of independent businesses by giving them a platform to compete with larger online retailers while building a community of passionate boutique owners and customers.

Sadly Trouva failed as a business on a number of occasions and changed ownership multiple times in the last few years. Although a part of the community of retailers selling on the platform, we were pretty much kept in the dark on the state of affairs then when Trouva finally went into administration in January 2025 the trail of debt became abundantly clear.

The business was sold again earlier this year but the new owners of Trouva told us they were not aware of the debts owed to boutiques when they bought trouva.com  and as they legally were not liable for the debt would not be paying the boutiques any outstanding monies owed.

The business was then sold again very soon after that, with the new owners maintaining the same stance, that the issue of the debt was not theirs.

Fundamentally we believe brands should stand for something. Sadly Trouva did not share our viewpoint that the new owners should settle the thousands of pounds the brand owes to shop owners despite claiming they are “for the independents”.

So while they relaunch Trouva  - we will be sticking to sales only via our website.

If you are a shop and thinking of selling on Trouva  or a retailer who is owed money from Trouva, please feel free to contact us for more information.
