Plant a colourful welcome for visiting butterflies with red valerian, creeping thyme (Thymus serpyllum) and scabious. Chosen for their nectar-rich flowers, these plants bring shades of crimson and purple to a sunny border or patio planting. A rewarding growing gift for gardeners who enjoy watching wildlife.
The compressed coconut coir bar contains red valerian, Thymus serpyllum and scabious seeds and comes with growing instructions. You provide the container, water and a bright place to begin.
Start growing from March to June. Place the unwrapped bar in a roomy container and add 500ml of water. Keep it on a warm, bright windowsill and water gently as needed. Once seedlings have 4–8 leaves, carefully separate them and move them into pots or a suitable garden spot, following the supplied care instructions.
